Here's a photo of Jan and her father that I took in Singapore. I'm glad I met him, because he was a great guy. He took the photo of me and the kangaroo that you may have noticed on your way to this page. You'll also see him scattered throughout my photo album. Jan and I flew to Port Douglas so I could meet him, then later he flew to China and gave us a whirlwind tour of the town we'd lived in for a year or two, then we hooked up in Singapore on our way to Malaysia. (Three different years.)

O & G, which is published by The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, published his obituary in Volume 6, No. 3, September/October 2004. The editors were kind enough to extract that page and send it to us, so here it is. Note how much younger he was in their picture than in mine. I also note that there's no mention of his pioneering work with the vaginal hysterectomy, for which I'm sure all of his patients were most grateful, or his integrity.

Also, like me, Chick was an old farm boy. I love that in a person.
